Oakdale Silver Band are pleased to announce another new signing and are delighted to welcome Jennifer Pritchard to the Baritone section.
On Monday 12th May the Band performed a concert in St. David's Church in Rhymney and was greeted with a great audience who gave the band a standing ovation at the end of the evening.
On Saturday 17th May the band entered the Merthyr Tydfil Brass Band Contest in Section 3 and were delighted to have played a great performance of Rodney Newton's "Four Cities Symphony" finishing in a respectable 4th place. Well Done everyone.
On Friday 23rd May the band performed a concert in Oakdale Presbyterian Church and helped raise over £300 for Christian Aid. I would like to thank my band for all the hard work that they put in each week to achieve the high level of performance that is currently being produced.
On Sunday 8th June the band will be performing in St Thomas's Church, Cefn Fforest at 4PM and then on Sunday 6th July the band will again be giving a Concert in Ystrad Mynach Park starting at 2:30PM.
On Saturday 28th June three of our band members are doing a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for Oakdale Silver Band. The band is a self funding band. We don't receive any sponsorship from anyone. If anyone would like to sponsor our three band members, then let us know via our website or Facebook page please.
